I'm Alex Wells. I make strange things. Some of them are dolls and some of them are stories.
My work has been on the cover of Art Doll Quarterly and has been shown in galleries across the country, including Cactus Gallery in Los Angeles, Gristle Art Gallery in Brooklyn, and Valkyrie Gallery in Denver, Colorado. I'm currently working on a middle grade fantasy novel that is illustrated with my art.
I live in Madison, Wisconsin with my partner, my black cat Phineas Twinkletoes (Prince of Darkness), and a collection of cast-off Victorian clothing that no decent woman from the 19th century would be caught dead in. My hobbies include looking at weird birds and being able to recite all 100 tree species in Wisconsin, which is pretty embarrassing, now that I think about it.
